INES MORETTI, PHARM. D.

PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER

Dr. Ines Moretti obtained her degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 1974. Her postdoctoral training includes analytical chemistry, molecular genetics and biochemistry of breast cancer. She has held research and faculty positions at the Medical College of Georgia, Baylor College of Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center and University of California, Irvine. Beginning in 1990, and continuing for eight years, she served as Director of the Biochemistry Laboratory at the Hitachi Chemical Research Center.

Over the years, Dr. Moretti has successfully applied her research on organic synthesis and chemical modification of therapeutic drugs, purification of antigens and antibodies to develop innovative reagents for immunoassays and test devices such as pregnancy tests, ovulation, infectious diseases and drugs-of-abuse. Dr. Moretti is a highly productive scientist. In addition to holding two patents, she has over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications and has won important international prize research awards.

FRANCISCO J. ROJAS, PH. D.

VICE-PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER

Dr. Francisco Rojas’ education includes degrees in Biochemistry (1973) and Endocrinology (1979), and postdoctoral studies at Baylor College of Medicine. He has been a professor and Director of the Radioimmunoassay Laboratory, School of Medicine, at the University of Texas Health Science Center, and Director of the Reproductive Endocrinology Laboratory, College of Medicine, at the University of California. Starting in 1997 and for seven years, he was Chief Scientific Officer of Worldwide Medical, a leading manufacturer of rapid diagnostic tests for drugs-of-abuse, cholesterol and early colorectal disease and therapeutic drug monitoring.

Dr. Rojas is an internationally recognized scientist in both the medical sciences and biotechnology industry. He has been editor of Endocrinology, the official scientific journal of the Endocrine Society, and Human Reproduction, the official scientific journal of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology. Dr. Rojas has about 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications and received FDA approval for a number of in vitro diagnostic test products.
